We started our day with 2 science demonstrations. We made slime, and Elephant Toothpaste (Elephant Snot). We had to make observations and decide if the different steps of our demonstrations represented chemical or physical changes.
If you would like to try either experiment at home, or want to check out a few others, the following link has some good activities that you could do with common household items. https://owlcation.com/stem/hands-on-experiments-to-learn-about-chemistry In Music we did Garage Band. In Math we revisited our fourth strategy (finding a common denominator) and learned our fifth strategy (le papillon) for comparing fractions. We practiced both strategies independently and then we played Fraction Battle with our 5 o'clock buddies. We did a reflection for conferences on our work habits and how we behave in class and at school. We identified things we think we're really good at, things we're ok at, and things we could improve. We had to pick two areas that we would like to focus on improving. We had special lunch! After lunch we read in English or French. Some students chose to work on some incomplete assignments. We shared our lifesaver experiment results with Mme so she could organize them in a graph. Come check it out during our conferences! After reading we worked on our Social Studies research project. Students should aim to be finished their visual by the end of the day tomorrow. At the end of the day we did Weebly and Mme took us outside to play because we listened very well and worked hard today! Reminders: The book fair draw is tomorrow, students can return their tickets for a chance to win $25 to spend at the book fair. You can visit the book fair when you come to the school for conferences either Thursday evening or Friday morning.
