In the morning we started with Quoi de Neuf, where we shared what we did on the weekend. We got new 'billets'. In math we did our number talk. We had multiple division expressions, all with a divisor of 8, that all built towards the fifth question. We discussed the mental math strategies that helped us solve each of the expressions. For the second part of math we chose 2 division questions and had to show Mme that we could use the traditional algorithm and one other strategy. We took pictures of our work and added them to google drive. We played Thunderball in Phys.Ed. In English we started planning our Hatchet Scrapbook task. We read for 30 minutes if French after lunch. In Social Studies we continued looking at the distribution of First Nations tribes in Canada before the arrival of europeans. We discussed the observations that we had made last week. Mme gave us a text that had some general information about the historical ways of life of First Nations people. We had to read the text and had to find out what different tribes had in common and how they were different. The text focused on Beliefs, Sources of Food, Technology, Trades, Myths and Legends, and Government. Reminders: Division Assessment tomorrow, February 26.
