We started off our day with some math puzzles where we had to figure out some unknown numbers that were represented by different shapes. In Music we did some Carnaval activities. We danced with partners to Carnaval music and played the spoons. In Phys. Ed we played Bonhomme Dodgeball (a Carnaval version of Dr. Dodgeball). In math we had to make a heart with 26 blocks (20 trapezoid and 6 rhombus blocks). We tried first without a template, and then we could use a template if we wanted to to make a heart shape with the blocks. While we were working on our geometry puzzles Bonhomme came to visit our class! After lunch we had 'les copains'. Our Room 4 buddies came to our class and we made animals with pattern blocks. We had templates that we followed to make different animals. We helped our buddies design a 'palais de glace' for Bonhomme Carnaval. and when we finished we wrote stories about Bonhomme. At the end of day we had our Carnaval parade, where we showed the objects we made for Social Studies. Reminder, all Social Studies explanations are due Tuesday February 19th.
