We started our day working on our Onomatopoeia Pop Art assignment. Many students finished up, and others will need to work on it during our independent work time next week.
Mme read us The Lorax and we discussed what we thought the message of the book was. In Math we did another round of Connect 4 to practice ordering decimal numbers. We had Music and Phys. Ed. We had some time to read or work on incomplete works. We went to our Buddy Class to discuss with them what we learned from the Lorax, and we got to watch some of the movie. Next week we will continue to discuss the impact of our small actions on the environment, and think of some things that we can do as a class to make a positive impact. Reminders: Our Social Studies project is due Tuesday April 23. Parents, please ensure that your child has placed the document in their Grade 5 Social Studies folder in googledrive, this way it does not need to be printed. Students will need to have identified a song with at least three different types of figurative language for next week. Please make sure that they have an idea of which song they would like to analyze, and ensure that it is school appropriate (in content and language).
