Today we kicked off our weather unit with a Weather Watch presentation. Scientist Louise came to our classroom and did demonstrations/experiments with us all morning!
We did Science until Lunch- Emily We learned how tornados work- Jack We learned about the weather and what air pressure means- Seth We did experiments to create air- Damien We learned that hot air goes to the top, cold air goes to the bottom- Kate Cold water (or air) stays more grouped together than hot air that spreads out- Mira We learned how hail is created- Emma We learned about clouds and hurricanes and how they are formed- Sarah We learned that hot air spreads out because heat is energy - Hillary At the end we talked a bit about global warming- Jack and how it's up to us to stop it! - Mira We learned about chinooks- India We learned how hot air moves faster than cold air- Joanah We made a cloud in a bottle - Austin After lunch we read, and some students finished up their chemistry evaluations. After reading we organized our desks and the classroom, and we could buy prizes from the prize bin! Then we did Weebly and went outside at the end of the day.
